Faith comes by hearing

Faith comes by hearing not by having heard.

Romans 10:17 (KJ21)

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Faith comes from the continual hearing of the goodness of God. It is Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. We look to him, we rely on his goodness and his grace to bless us, heal us, guide us, lead us, and keep us. Jesus is the focus of everything.

Faith doesn’t come by doing. Faith comes by hearing the good news of being made right with God. Continually hearing there is no war between me and God and that I am holy and blameless. Listening to the gospel of peace and continuing to hear the good news is the only to build faith.
