Sometimes the old ways are best

God is doing a new thing is something we often hear and should celebrate when we hear it. Any God directed activity is worthy of veneration. The Lord prompted me to watch a movie, Bond:Skyfall. As I watched the movie the message was clear. When it comes to the temptation of the new in the ways of the world, it’s not always better.

Jeremiah 6:16 (AMP)

Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the roads and look; ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is; then walk in it, And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it!'

Matthew 13:52 (AMP)

He said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things that are new and fresh and things that are old and familiar."

Embrace the traditional teaching of God while reaching out for new contemporary ways to live the time tested truths. The gospel doesn’t need changing. We do.
