Christ consciousness brings life

The reality of salvation is that Christ has redeemed us and given us a seat at the table. In him, we are at the right hand of our father God. Our relationship with the Father is completely dependent on Jesus. We rely on his performance since his performance is perfect. We have entered into this grace in which we now stand. We get to join the fellowship of the trinity.

2nd Corinthians 10:3-6 NASB

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but [b]divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

Paul is saying true apostolic warfare and spiritual warfare is keeping our eyes on Christ. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. To his obedience. Not yours and not mine. It’s about Christ’s obedience to God and as long as we rely on Christ we are free from the snare of darkness.

Jorge, are you saying we should sin because we can depend on Christ? No. May it never be.

Romans 6:1-3

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

The answer is a resounding no. the reality is: as we depend on Christ, we become like him. When we focus on ourselves, it detracts from the glory of God. We have to rely on Christ and his finished work. We have to stay “in grace” and not “fall from grace.” Grace is the highest place in the Christian experience. Grace is abandonment to God and relying on God’s unbelievable goodness delivered through his mighty son—Jesus Christ!

Grace doesn't empower us to live in sin. Grace shows us unmerited favor so we can escape sin. God's goodness is the escape hatch from the sin obsessed life. We want God's glory because it's continual enjoyment. Sin is enjoyable temporarily but has serious side effects. The path to true pleasure and enjoyment in life is the gospel. It's relationship with God and it starts from the inside.
